It has been 10 years since the start of this great agency, Pathways to Prosperity, Inc. When approached by the Visionary, the late Rev. Lance Chaney, about creating a program that would support children and families in Boynton Beach and Palm Beach County at large, I was eager to pen the concept and thoughts to paper, however, when asked to lead the agency, I wasn’t sure that I could handle it. I’d spent my entire career helping those that needed a “hand-up” and supporting Executive Directors achieve their missions and visions and now, I was being charged with building a program from the ground up.

It has not been an easy 10 years, but I admit this has been the most rewarding work I have ever done. I’m honored to serve the children and families in Palm Beach County. I’m humbled by the relationships that have been formed and I’m most amazed by the committed, devoted and tireless work of the staff that has carried the vision and mission of the agency forth.

I am grateful for every funder, donor, volunteer and consultant that have invested in me to ensure that I was equipped for the challenge of leading a great nonprofit organization. The year of 2020 was a challenge for each of us, but we came together. Funders bonded, organizations formed alliances and families leaned on one another to support us all. I’m convinced that Greater is in front of us!

Thank you to the Board of Directors for “standing in the paint” and making the hard decisions when necessary. Thank you to St. John Missionary Baptist Church for being the backbone to Pathways to Prosperity and thank you to all the many volunteers that have helped to make it possible for us to reach a 10-year milestone.

The year 2021 will be a Great One! I know this because you have each shown me what is possible when we come together on one accord. Thank you for allowing me to serve you.
