BRIDGES is a community hub concept developed by the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County to meet the daily and long-term needs of local families. The ultimate goal is to ensure that children are: 1) Born healthy, 2) Growing up safe and 3) Ready to learn when they enter school.

Most importantly, BRIDGES offer a welcoming place families can come to share news, have fun together and make lifelong friends.
The Benefits of BRIDGES
BRIDGES benefits our whole community. Through BRIDGES, Palm Beach County families get the tools they need so children can grow up healthy, safe and strong and achieve a vital stepping stone toward future success: reading on grade level by the end of third grade.
Why does this matter? Because what happens today in a child’s life makes a difference tomorrow – for all of us.
Navigation is the coordination of access and removal of barriers to service for families who may have difficulty accessing services on their own. It is more than a referral; rather it is a linkage that includes the process of intake and assessment.
Our navigator will provide guidance while helping you understand the health and human services systems, educational and other family support services available in Palm Beach County. Also, when appropriate, our navigator will make referrals to our partner agencies.
Triple P is one of the few evidence-based programs that it utilized worldwide, in over 25 countries. The program itself offers effective, practical, strategies for preventing or resolving common behavior problems in children. The concept behind Triple P is that by providing parents the tools they need to solve their current parenting problems-they will be able to prevent future problems before they arise.
Triple P helps parents:
* Raise happy, confident kids
* Feel less stressed and gain control
* Manage misbehavior so everyone in the family enjoys life more
* Set rules and routines that everyone respects and follows
* Encourage behavior you like
* Take care of yourself as a parent
* Feel confident you’re doing the right thing
The Positive Parenting Program takes the guesswork out of parenting. It is one of the few parenting programs in the world with evidence to show it works for most families.
Triple P gives parents simple tips to help manage the big and small problems of family life. Problems like toddler tantrums or teenage rebellion. Self-esteem issues. Bedtime battles. Disobedience. Aggression. Triple P can help you deal with them all – and more!
Capacity Building Workshops are offered on a monthly basis and aim to provide our families with information and tools needed for their path to self-sufficiency. We give our families the knowledge so they can improve their family and household situations.
Our workshops cover a wide spectrum of topics such as:
* Budgeting & Finance
* Fitness and Nutrition
* Resume Building
* Healthy Relationships
* Childbirth Preparation & Readiness
* And much more...
These events give parents the opportunity to actively participate in the growth of their child and witness how they can provide the supportive environment their child needs to learn and grow. These programs empower the parents to embrace their role as their child’s first teacher by giving them the tools to transition these new skills to the home environment.
Is your child ready for Kindergarten? Find out if your child is on track and ready to learn with the ASQ-3. The ASQ-3 is a screening tool for children 0-5 years old. The questionnaire focuses on five core areas:
* Communication
* Fine Motor
* Gross Motor
* Problem Solving
* Social-Emotional
The first 5 years are the most important because they set the stage for success in school and later in life. This is why it is imperative for parent to know where they child stands. The ASQ-3 screening tool allows us to access if your child is on track and make a referral for direct services when there is a concern.
