Job Summary:

Circles is a community-based initiative that creates relationships across class and race lines, matching people with low-income with people of middle and upper income Allies. The primary role of the person in this position is to “coach” or support these relationships to thrive. The Circles Coach is also responsible for contributing to efforts to engage the community in Circles, and specifically supports the Recruitment Team, assisting then in recruiting, training, and supporting Circle Leaders.

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruiting and screening of possible Circle Leaders and Allies
  • Conduct intake interviews and strength-based assessments for all Circle Leaders
  • Provide orientation for new Circle Leader Families
  • Maintain current knowledge of social services available throughout community
  • Maintain weekly on-going support to CL (Weekly one-on-one check in with CL’s)
  • Broker needed services through information to Circle Leader
  • Collaborate with case managers to ensure families progress
  • Ability to write and speak passionately to end poverty
  • Facilitate the Circles 12-15 week’s curriculum
  • Lead assigned community teams & assist recruitment for the team to ensure the efficacy & viability of the Circles model recruitment and Community Teams in tasks / Outreach efforts
  • Maintain accurate CL records, files and complete required reports, including Intake documents
  • Complete initial Matrix to assess CL at intake, quarterly or as needed thereafter to determine CL progression
  • Regularly attend and provide leadership in team meetings and community meetings

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule

 
Qualifications:

  • Two years’ experience in Human Services field
  • Two or four year degree in Human Service field with training in family development or case management
  • Experience working with low-income people
  • Experience working in community organizing or community development

Salary: $14.00 – $20.00 Per Hour
